COLUMBIA — Boone Health celebrated the grand opening of its new Breast Care Clinic Tuesday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Hospital leaders, community members and breast cancer survivors attended the ceremony.
The 5,617-square-foot facility will now provide patients with dedicated breast health services in a private, purpose-built space designed to improve care, according to Boone Health.
The newly designed clinic features nine exam rooms and one procedure room. Boone Health said the expansion will help meet growing demand for breast care in mid-Missouri, offering more timely appointments and personalized attention.
"The previous clinic was a part of the overall general surgery colorectal clinic, and so being able to separate breast down to its own space allows for intentionality; it allows for specific care models," Boone Health CEO Brady Dubois said. "Patients, when they come in, they can have ... a lot more privacy and a lot more one on one attention."
In addition to upgraded clinical space, Boone Health also announced the opening of a new breast cancer bra and prosthetics shop inside the clinic.

Speakers at the ceremony included Dubois, Anne Petersen, who is a board-certified general surgeon and clinic leader, and a local breast cancer survivor, who shared her journey with the crowd.
“They developed my treatment plan, and thankfully, when I had my double mastectomy in January, the result was that I have no more cancer cells,” the survivor said.
The clinic works closely with Missouri Cancer Associates to ensure continuity of care and a full range of support services for patients undergoing diagnosis, treatment and recovery, according to Boone Health.
'We have wonderful support with Missouri Cancer Associates — we work very closely together — and we knew we had something very special, and working with Boone and with the foundation and putting all these pieces together, we were able to make a dedicated space for breast health," Petersen said.
The clinic is fully open and is already seeing patients. It is located at Broadway Medical Plaza 2, 1605 E. Broadway, Suite 200.
