ST PAUL, Minn. — The M Health Fairview Clinic on Rice Street in St. Paul is marking its 100th anniversary.
Since its founding in 1925, the primary care clinic has been a cornerstone of community health in the North End neighborhood.
Tuesday morning, state and city leaders hosted an anniversary party for the community. They had free health screenings and dental cleanings along with some fun activities and giveaways. St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter and lots of folks from the community showed up.
"When I came back from college, the first home that my family bought was just two blocks from where we are today," Carter said. "It didn't take long for us to find out that we didn't have to go far to find really good healthcare right in our neighborhood."
Fairview says the clinic will continue its legacy of culturally responsive care, while breaking down barriers and improving lives.
