Webinar: Medicaid is a Critical Health Insurer for Small Businesses

8 hours ago 2

As Congress considers the largest cuts to Medicaid in history, a new report from the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families and the Small Business Majority explains the importance of Medicaid to small businesses. One-third of Medicaid enrollees are owners, workers or family members in small businesses like childcare centers, restaurants, construction trades, and home health services.

Georgetown University CCF and the Small Business Majority will share the report findings and discuss the impact that federal Medicaid cuts would have on access to health coverage for small businesses, workers and family members during a webinar. They were joined by the founder and owner of a home-based childcare center in Freeport, New York to explain the impact Medicaid cuts would have on her business, employees and customers.

Webinar speakers include:

  • Joan Alker, Georgetown University CCF Executive Director and lead author of the report
  • David Chase, Vice President of Policy and Advocacy, Small Business Majority
  • Janna Rodriguez, owner and provider of the Innovative Daycare Corp, Freeport, New York
