FLINT - We’ve done the seniors and juniors.

Now, we want to know who you think is the top underclassman athlete in the Flint area.

We have 82 athletes on our poll, which will remain open until noon on May 12.

Athletes from baseball, softball, soccer, lacrosse, golf, tennis, and track and field were selected for the poll. Stats for golf were based on iwanamaker.com while tennis stats were based on tennisreporting.com and track and field via athletic.net.

Votes MUST be submitted in the poll at the bottom of the story in order for it to count. Votes by email will not be accepted.

Eli Sturgess (10th), Powers Catholic (Baseball)

Sturgess is currently hitting .360 with two doubles, three triples, and one home run as Powers Catholic’s primary shortstop.

Drew Simmons (10th), Powers Catholic (Baseball)

Simmons is currently hitting .391 with four doubles and two triples as Powers Catholic’s third baseman.

Trace Dennis (10th), Imlay City (Baseball)

Dennis is currently hitting .278 with 12 walks, eight RBIs, and a .490 OBP. He has also thrown out five runners from behind the plate.

Griffin Wetzel (9th), Imlay City (Baseball)

Wetzel currently has 37 strikeouts in 28 innings of work, posting a 3.00 ERA.

Olivia Gioventu (10th), Flushing (Soccer)

Gioventu currently has 11 goals and six assists so far this season.

Addisyn Good (10th), Flushing (Softball)

Good is hitting .519 with 28 hits, eight doubles, two triples, and a home run. She also has 17 RBIs, 24 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases.

Emma Larner (10th), Flushing (Softball)

Larner is hitting .326 with three doubles, two triples, one home run, and 11 RBIs.

Mason Luck (10th), Linden (Boys Lacrosse)

Luck currently has 15 goals and 17 assists this season.

Brady Messenger (10th), Flint Kearsley (Baseball)

Messenger is hitting .379 with a .486 OBP and 11 hits and 16 RBIs. He has also caught eight runners stealing behind the plate.

Landon Mattis (10th), Burton Bendle (Baseball)

Mattis is hitting .500 with two doubles, two triples, seven RBIs, and 22 stolen bases. He also holds a 3-0 record with 29 strikeouts and a 2.10 ERA on the mound.

Brayden Wollard (10th), Burton Bendle (Baseball)

Wollard is hitting .619 with four doubles and 16 stolen bases.

Jayla Pittman (9th), Flushing (Girls Lacrosse)

A freshman attacker/defender, Pittman has been a consistent contributor for a young Flushing team.

Savanah Tanner (10th), Flushing (Girls Lacrosse)

A sophomore defender, Tanner has helped anchor the Flushing defense.

Jessie Livingston (10th), Fenton (Girls Lacrosse)

Livingston currently has 29 ground balls, 10 goals, and 15 draw controls.

Khloe Wilson (9th), LakeVille Memorial (Soccer)

Wilson currently has three goals this season as a defensive midfielder.

Tessa Zilisch (10th), Linden (Softball)

The go-to arm out of Linden’s bullpen, Zilisch has contributed 31.2 innings with a 2.65 ERA this season.

She is also hitting .420 (3rd on the team) with a .455 OBP and nine extra-base hits (leads team).

Addi Siegwald (10th), Linden (Softball)

A defensive specialist as third base/shortstop, Siegwald is hitting .309 with a .424 OBP.

She also leads the team with 26 runs scored and sacrificed bunts.

Carolyn Wistuba (10th), Swartz Creek (Tennis)

Wistuba currently holds a 12-0 record at 4-doubles.

Layla Hopkins (10th), Swartz Creek (Tennis)

Hopkins currently holds a 12-0 record at 4-doubles.

Ayannah Jackson (10th), Goodrich (Softball)

Jackson is currently hitting .422 with .481 OBP and 19 hits, four doubles, two home runs, and 14 RBs.

Ella Stevenson (10th), Grand Blanc (Softball)

Stevenson is currently hitting .372 with three doubles and 11 RBIs. She also has yet to commit an error behind the plate this season.

Avery Heil (10th), Lake Fenton (Softball)

Heil is currently hitting .411 with five home runs, six doubles, and 25 RBIs.

Maddie Stanton (10th), Lake Fenton (Softball)

Stanton is currently hitting .282 while carrying a 10-2 record with a 2.43 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 66.1 innings of work.

Laureena Baehl (10th), Lake Fenton (Softball)

Baehl is hitting .509 with eight home runs, five doubles, and 36 RBIs.

Addie Taylor (10th), Clio (Softball)

Taylor currently holds a 7-1 record with a 0.26 ERA and 87 strikeouts.

Lillian Tillier (10th), Fenton (Softball)

Tillier has contributed 56 innings pitched with 65 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA on the mound this season. She is also hitting .482 with 21 RBIs and two home runs.

Marianna Williams (9th), Fenton (Softball)

Williams is currently hitting .483 with seven RBIs.

Ali Rather (9th), Goodrich (Softball)

Rather is hitting .600 with a .673 OBP and 24 hits, four doubles, two triples, and 17 RBIs. The Martians’ catcher possesses a great arm behind the plate and at the hot corner as well.

Sydney Paris (9th), Clio (Soccer)

Paris currently has one goal and three assists this season.

Ella Dye (10th), Lake Fenton (Soccer)

A team captain and returning all-league honorable mention, Dye has been a consistent contributor for the Blue Devils.

Elliot Sucio-Ford (10th), Lake Fenton (Soccer)

Sucio-Ford has one goal and one assist this season.

Carli Banaszak (10th), Grand Blanc (Girls Tennis)

Banaszak holds a 12-1 record in 1-singles this season.

Anna Light (9th), Goodrich (Softball)

Goodrich’s defensive wizard, Light is currently hitting .386 with a .472 OBP and 17 hits, 16 RBIs, and seven stolen bases. She currently plays second base, shortstop, and outfield for the Martians.

Chris Lewis (10th), Fenton (Golf)

Lewis has been a consistent contributor for Fenton this season, shooting a 41 on April 29 against Linden.

Fenton is currently 8-0 and tied for the top spot in the Flint Metro League.

Landon Guenther (10th), Grand Blanc (Golf)

Guenther shot a 76 and finished seventh at the SVL #1 league meet on April 28, helping Grand Blanc finish second.

William Latchana (10th), Davison (Golf)

Latchana shot a 74 and finished tied for second at the SVL #1 league meet on April 28, helping Davison finish first.

Max Morris (10th), Davison (Golf)

Morris shot a 75 and finished tied for fifth at the SVL #1 league meet on April 28, helping Davison finish first.

Jayce Junga (9th), Goodrich (Golf)

A breakout freshman for the Martians, Junga shot a 37 in a head-to-head meet against Goodrich on May 1.

Samantha Nanney (9th), Powers Catholic (Soccer)

Another consistent contributor for Powers Catholic, Nanney has been stellar in her first season on varsity.

Bella White (10th), Powers Catholic (Soccer)

White has been a consistent contributor on a Powers Catholic team loaded with talent.

Bailey Allen (10th), Holly (Soccer)

A two-year starter, Allen has one goal and three assists this season.

Piper Johnson (10th), Holly (Soccer)

Johnson, in her first year on varsity, has been an everyday starter for a Bronchos team currently holding an 8-2 record.

Miranda Russell (10th), Flint Kearsley (Tennis)

Russell currently holds a 9-3 record and a 4-1 league record in 4-singles.

Sana Saeed (10th), Lapeer (Tennis)

Saeed currently holds a 7-3 record in 4-doubles

Grace Wolner (9th), Fenton (Tennis)

Wolner currently holds a 4-1 record in 4-singles

Bridget Preston (10th), Flushing (Tennis)

Preston currently holds a 10-2 record in 3-doubles.

Grace Hebeler (10th), Flushing (Tennis)

Hebeler currently holds a 10-2 record in 3-doubles.

Caydence Royster (10th), Clio (Tennis)

Royster holds a 10-0 record in 1-doubles this season.

Studer has six goals and four assists this season.

Mills holds a 3-4 record in 1-doubles.

Braden Hartsuff (10th), Corunna (T&F)

Hartsuff has posted multiple first-place finishes across both hurdles and relay events this season.

Kayden Martin (10th), Flint Kearsley (T&F)

Martin has competed all over the place for the Hornets, but he’s been dominant in both hurdle events this season.

Lennox Naswell (9th), Powers Catholic (T&F)

In his first year on varsity, Naswell has been a consistent contributor for the Chargers across multiple events.

Gavin Katic (9th), Fenton (T&F)

In his first year on varsity, Katic has been a consistent contributor for the Tigers in the 1600, 3200, and relay events.

Eli Worthington (9th), Owosso (T&F)

Worthington has posted numerous first-place finishes in shot put and discus for Owosso this season.

Elliana Hufton (10th), Lake Fenton (T&F)

Hufton has been a consistent contributor across multiple events and recently helped set the school record in the 4x400 relay (4:12.30) alongside Ana Lovell, Sylvia Santino, and Keira Sadler.

The previous record was set in 1985.

Maddie Lindley (10th), Holly (T&F)

Lindley has been stellar in the 800, 1600, 3200, and relay events for the Bronchos.

Alivia Ottinger (10th), Goodrich (T&F)

Ottinger has been a consistent contributor for the Martians in the 1800, 3200, and 4x400 relay.

Addyson Stiverson (10th), Montrose (T&F)

Stiverson has yet to be defeated in shot put this season and holds numerous first-place finishes in discus.

AuDree Louis (9th), Grand Blanc (T&F)

Louis has been a consistent contributor in the 100, 200, and 4x200 relay in her first year on varsity for the Bobcats.

Kayla Shellenbarger (9th), Goodrich (T&F)

Shellenbarger holds first-place finishes across multiple events in her first year on varsity for the Martians.

Evah Smith (9th), Flint Powers Catholic (T&F)

Smith has been stellar in shot put and discus for the Chargers, holding multiple first-place finishes already.

Davin Wilcrynski (9th), Mt. Morris (Baseball)

Wilcrynski is hitting .435 with two doubles and seven stolen bases. He also holds a 2-0 record with a five-inning perfect game and 13 strikeouts on the mound.

Colton Rich (10th), Davison (Baseball)

Rich is currently hitting .567 (leads team) as the Cardinals’ primary right fielder. He has also contributed innings on the mound.

Malaki Johnson (10th), Davison (Baseball)

Johnson is currently hitting .403 with two wins on the mound this season.

Chase Ducharme (10th), Davison (Baseball)

Ducharme is a two-year starter for Davison and has been a consistent contributor as a third baseman and pitcher.

Braeden Kerns (9th), Davison (Baseball)

Kerns has tallied two wins on the mound already and will be a go-to arm on future Davison teams.

Ray Bednarski (10th), Davison (Baseball)

Bednarski is currently hitting .429 and has flashed the leather in the outfielder multiple times this season.

Abigail Harper (9th), Byron (Soccer)

Harper has played all 11 games for Byron and has been a defensive anchor, stealing the ball and connecting a pass to a teammate.

Jess Ward (10th), Byron (Soccer)

Ward has started all 11 games for Byron and leads the defensive unit alongside Harper.

Haylee Heise (10th), Grand Blanc (Soccer)

Had two goals and two assists last season, has two goals so far

Mia Newbery (9th), Otisville LakeVille Memorial (Softball)

Newbery is hitting .377 with 20 hits, three doubles, one triple, and one home run.

Kelsi Clark (9th), Otisville LakeVille Memorial (Softball)

Clark is hitting .396 with 21 hits, two doubles, and two home runs this season.

Kaelynn Pollock (9th), Burton Bendle (Softball)

Pollock is hitting .357 with a home run, six RBIs, 11 runs scored, and .393 OBP.

Veronica Tate (10th), Clio (Softball)

Tate holds a 4-3 record with a 2.01 ERA and 38 strikeouts. She is also hitting .333 with three home runs and 21 RBIs.

Arnst helps anchor a defensive unit that has tallied four shutouts this season.
