Speakers named for Sports Night event on Cleveland’s 1995 World Series team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Carlos Baerga and longtime Cleveland Guardians senior vice president Bob DiBiasio are slated to be the featured speakers as Temple Emanu El Brotherhood celebrates the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Indians.

The event - 6:15 p.m. Thursday, July 17 - marks the temple’s 35th annual Sports Night.

The night includes dinner and prizes.

Baerga played eight of his 14 Major League seasons with Cleveland. An infielder, he hit .291 lifetime. He was part of the 1995 team that lost the World Series to the Atlanta Braves in six games. Baerga serves as an ambassador for the club.

DiBiasio has been the face of the franchise since 1979, working in communications roles through the team’s decades of highs and lows, pennant races and missed opportunities. He is a Northeast Ohio native.

Temple Emanu El Brotherhood, founded in 1947, is composed of Jewish men who provide service and fundraising to the school, congregation and community.

Cost for Sports Night is $25 ($10, ages 12 and under).
