ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - The Citied Foundation brings people together to spread love in a karaoke night at District Bar and Grill, Sunday afternoon.
This is the second annual karaoke night to spread awareness on mental health and raise money for the Citied Foundation’s Early Bird’s Social Development program.
Executive Director Ashton Lockhart says this is a fun night to raise money to spread the message of mental health by creating the next generation of social workers and therapists among Auburn high school students.
“Tonight has been amazing,” Lockhart said. “To watch people not just have fun but, you know, a lot of people don’t realize that things that we do like singing songs and fellowship, coming together, those things also serve the purpose of supporting our mental health and wellness, so seeing it all those different facets come together has really been fun.”
