SEC Media Days kicks off with questions about sports legislation

ATLANTA, Ga. (KBTX) - SEC Media Days are underway and have comprehensive coverage of football, basketball, baseball, and more. The multi-day event allows a first look into the upcoming college season.

In previous years, most of the questions have been focused on the sports. However, this year, “it’s a lot more of the governance of football, not the X’s and O’s,” explained KBTX’s Travis Brown who is in Atlanta for the conference.

While legislation has changed a lot around student athletes recently, Commissioner of the SEC, Greg Sankey, gave his annual stump speech where he talked about what he wants the future of college athletics to look like.

“Ultimately, this all comes down to one answer. Congress has to act in Washington to provide guardrails for college athletics,” Brown added.
