Virtual mental health first aid training
Youth Mental Health First Aid is hosting a class via Zoom to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, neighbors and other caring citizens how to help children aged 12 to 18 who are "experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis." The course features a five-step action plan to help.

Dr. Nicolas Bazan, of LSU Health New Orleans' Neuroscience Center of Excellence, was honored at Accademia dei Lincei in Rome, Italy, a prominent scientific institution, for his research on neurodegenerative disease and brain aging.
Bazan has spent his life's work researching neurodegenerative diseases, a condition his aunt in Argentina experienced on his way to a piano class at 8 years old. Bazan's six-decade career was highlighted on nature.com.

Tulane doctor honored with national award for clinical diagnostics
The Academy of Diagnostics and Laboratory Medicine has awarded Tulane School of Medicine research scientist Tony Hu the 2025 Academy Award for Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Chemistry in a Selected Area of Research.
One of the nation's highest honors in clinical diagnostics, the award recognizes clinical chemists whose pioneering research efforts have placed them among the world’s foremost experts in their fields.
