SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Saturday morning, over one hundred people gathered at Sertoma Park in Sioux Falls for a walk to raise funds and awareness for mental health support.
The NAMIWalk was organized by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organizations which holds walks all around the US throughout the year.
The walk in Sioux Falls began back in 2003 and has raised just over $53,000 of its $70,000 goal in South Dakota so far this year.
Two individuals who participated on Saturday each raised over $1,000.
