Matt Ponatoski, a Moeller High School senior who was one of the country's top football and baseball recruiting prospects, committed to playing both sports at the University of Kentucky on Sunday.Ponatoski is the reigning Gatorade Ohio Football Player of the Year, as well as the reigning Ohio Baseball Player of the Year.He was reportedly also considering attending Alabama, Arkansas, and Oregon.Ponatoski plays quarterback in football and both shortstop and third base in baseball.During his time with Moeller High School's football team, Ponatoski led the team to the Ohio state championship in 2024. However, the team ultimately came up short in a 28-14 loss against Olentangy Liberty High School, which is located in Delaware County. Meanwhile in baseball, Ponatoski was part of the team when Moeller won the state title in 2023 over Olentangy Orange High School.
