COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A beloved local lake could be visited with a national recognition soon!
Lake Murray has been nominated for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the ‘Best Lake for Water Sports’ category for the second year in a row.
“This nomination reflects the vibrant community and natural beauty that make Lake Murray such a special place,” said Miriam Atria, President/CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country. “We’re proud to be recognized once again and encourage everyone who loves the lake to vote daily and help us reach #1.”
Lake Murray came in second place in 2024, following Lake Erie.
Water-sports enthusiasts have praised Lake Murray for its over 650 miles of shoreline, and the lake attracts all kinds of aquatic athletes for kayaking, paddleboarding, jet skiing, wakeboarding and boating.
The winner of the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards is determined entirely by public vote. Voting opens May 5 and lasts until June 2 at 11:59 p.m.
