HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Happy 125th Birthday to Kuakini Health System.
Staff and supporters celebrated the major milestone over the weekend.
Hawai’i Governor Josh Green, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, and United States Representative Ed Case were among the dignitaries who attended.
They each spoke about Kuakini’s anniversary celebration and presented a proclamation in recognition of Kuakini’s 125 years of health care for the community.
The medical center first opened in 1900 as a small two-story building in Kapalama.
The hospital now located on North Kuakini Street is Hawaii’s largest remaining independent health care facility.
