Baseball

Flint Powers Catholic 10, Linden 0: Santino Evely and Keagen Kohlhoff combined for five scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts to lead the Chargers.

Nathan Gebhardt went 3-for-4 with three RBIs while Eli Sturgess went 1-for-3 with three RBIs in the win.

Imlay City 3, Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Laker 2: Sam Edson went the distance and allowed only two earned runs to lead the Spartans.

Edson helped his own cause at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI while Vincent Guerin went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two walks.

Mt. Morris 7, Ovid-Elsie 5: Nick Lovelady pitched seven innings and struck out six while Aiden England went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Panthers.

Lovelady went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Colby Carper-Goode and Antonio Gatica each collected two hits in the win.

Girls Soccer (Districts)

Byron 4, West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy 2 (OT): Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Byron mounted its comeback to bring home a 4-2 win and advance in the MHSAA state tournament.

Zadie Schmidt scored the first goal to open up the second half before Adalen Brown would set up Schmidt for another score to tie the game.

Schmidt earned her hat trick in overtime and Claire Murphree tallied the final goal to lead Byron.

Miyah Treidel tallied 13 saves in net.

Byron will face Clarkston Everest Collegiate on May 27 at Clarkston Everest Collegiate High School in the district semifinals.

Montrose 7, Burton St. Thomas More Academy 0: Miley Harrington and Adie Fejes each tallied two goals to lead the Rams to a win in the opening round of district play.

Brooklyn Perrin, Allison Thomas, and Sam Owens each added a score while Harrington added two assists in the win.

Montrose will face Genesee Christian on May 29 at Millington High School in the district semifinals.

Byron 8, Whitmore Lake 2: Emma Glass went seven innings and struck out 14 to lead Byron to a win in game one.

Lilly Quimby went 3-for-4 with two RBIs while Harper Wilcox went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Camryn Hamilton and Gracie McDowell each had two hits, including a triple to lead the Eagles.

Byron 14, Whitmore Lake 5: Emma Glass went the distance again in game two, tallying 10 strikeouts.

Glass helped her own cause at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs while Camryn Hamilton went 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the win.

Gracie McDowell, Lilly Quimby, and Jordan Huhn each added two hits in the win.

Imlay City 13, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 2: Faith Schriber went five innings and struck out nine to lead Imlay City.

Brooke Walls went 2-for-3 with a triple while Alexis Bruyere and Ava Nadrowski each added two hits in the win.

Imlay City 11, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 0: Roslyn Bruman tallied a complete game shutout while Makayla Bruman went 3-for-4 with five RBIs.

Chloe Bruman went 3-for-4 with an RBI and B Walls went 2-for-2 with two RBIs in the win.
