Cowboys Record-Setting Schedule Predicted To Make Bad-News History

The Dallas Cowboys will make history in 2025, but it's going to be brutal.

The Dallas Cowboys, under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, won't have an easy start to the 2025 season. They'll travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFC champions, as they hang their Super Bowl banner to open the season.

That isn't the only tough match on Dallas' schedule. The NFC East franchise has the 11th-hardest schedule in football.

But there is a stretch late in the season when, if the Cowboys haven't banked their wins early, they could be in serious trouble.

Why? Because Dallas faces a historically tough stretch from Week 12 through to Week 17, and if things go wrong, the Cowboys will end the year with a whimper.

"The Cowboys haven't been to the Super Bowl in 30 years and if their schedule is any indication, that streak probably isn't going to end this year," CBS Sports writes. "From Week 12 through Week 17, the Cowboys will face the Eagles, Chiefs, Lions, Vikings, Chargers and Commanders, making Dallas the FIRST team in NFL history to get stuck playing six straight games against team that won at least 11 games in the prior season.

"They're also the first team in NFL history to play four straight games against teams that won at least 14 games in the prior season."

That is a brutal stretch.

Of course, players wouldn't want it any other way because if you are going to win the Super Bowl, you're going to have to go through a tough gauntlet of playoff teams, so why not get prepared?

Granted, a team has never had a run like the Cowboys will have, but it will be a good test of the team's mental makeup and Schottenheimer's chops as a head coach.

Saying those six games will determine the Cowboys' season might seem heavy-handed, but it has the potential to supercharge a playoff push or end it in devastating fashion.

Fans hope it isn't the latter.
