Community rallies around local photographer during health complications

COMANCHE, Okla. (KSWO) - Members of the Stephens County community came together to support a local photographer.

Jason Hodges, who has diabetes and has faced challenges since an injury at an event, serves as a photographer with the Duncan Banner.

Hodges recently lost part of his foot and is suffering from vision loss. Now, he needs surgery to combat the developments.

Jennifer Bacon, the owner of Thirsty’s in Comanche, found out that Hodges was struggling and knew she had to lend a hand.

She set up a pancake fundraiser at Thirsty’s, where community members were able to help Hodges pay for his procedure.

“This whole community, the whole county, has rallied behind me and shown me compassion that is never dreamed possible,” said Hodges. “They opened up their hearts to me and, just, I don’t have the words to show my appreciation for everybody around that’s come out to help me.”
