Julia HoodBusiness Insider has appointed Julia Hood as its newsroom AI lead, a new role focused on advancing the newsroom’s use of AI to support journalists and develop new ways to engage its audience.
Hood has some of Business Insider’s most ambitious coverage on how companies use AI. As editorial AI lead, she will collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom to understand which tools they’re currently using, identify new opportunities, and shape strategy around emerging AI capabilities.
Hood will be the go-to for how new AI tools are used and integrated in the newsroom. Her experience will be essential in helping Business Insider stay ahead and ensuring the newsroom remains at the forefront of innovation in journalism.
The new role expands Hood’s current role as executive editor for strategic initiatives and special projects. She will work closely with Business Insider’s product team and with standards editor Tracy Connor to align editorial innovation with best practices and newsroom standards.
