March 1000 event in Apex highlight men’s mental health

Supporting men's mental health. That was the focus of a march in downtown Apex Saturday.
Apex Mayor Jacques Gilbert led March One Thousand in the Apex Town Hall courtyard.
The event was to uplift men’s mental health, break the stigma of mental illness, and bring 1,000 men together in solidarity.
“I want this event to represent that if you're ever in need of help, please reach out. Find the resources, there are resources available,” Gilbert said. “Go to our website, go to the Apex Police Department website or many other organizations that are working together to make sure that people are taken care of in their mental well-being.”
Participants walked down Salem Street and listened to speeches focused on healing, hope, and brotherhood.
