1. Will a Montana team be able to bring home a Pioneer Baseball League title this summer?
John Letasky: That's a tall task, but in the Magic City I'm sure fans are rooting for a magical season by the Mustangs.
Lindsay Rossmiller: They've got a 25% chance.
Chris Peterson: My magic 8-ball says no.
Daniel Shepard: Great Falls Voyagers beat the Helena Senators 2-1 in a scrimmage, so anything is possible.
Carson Cashion: The PaddleHeads looked primed to make a postseason run before a first-round exit last summer. Hopefully for Missoula fans, some variance works in their favor.
2. Thoughts on the recruiting and commitment of 'Michigan Man' Matt Ludwig to the Wolverines?
John Letasky: That's probably the most buzz around a Montana recruit I've seen in my time at The Gazette. Kudos to Ludwig and best of luck to him.
Lindsay Rossmiller: It's been interesting hearing about the parade of programs that previously showed little to no interest in Billings come through.
Chris Peterson: People who are 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, and run 11.12 in the 100-meter dash don't grow on trees. Michigan just had a tight end drafted in the first round from Idaho, who isn't as good an athlete as "Moose." He'll be an NFL draft pick someday.
Daniel Shepard: I gotta dollar bill that says he transfers back to UM or MSU at some point. Small fish in a big pond type of thing, you know?
Carson Cashion: Seeing Power Four programs come to recruit the Treasure State is really cool. Happy for Ludwig, happy for Montana kids.
3. Will golfer Scottie Scheffler capture the career grand slam?
John Letasky: He's two away, so there's still some climbing to do, but, yes, at some point Scheffler should achieve this.
Lindsay Rossmiller: Only thing to do is wait and see.
Chris Peterson: He's got the easiest ones to get. I'm going to say he falls short.
Daniel Shepard: I've captured a few career Grand Slams at Denny's. Liquid cheese on your eggs anyone? YUM!
Carson Cashion: I think The Open can be a tricky one to capture, especially for a guy who can just usually rely on his length, but I think he's just well-rounded enough to do it.
4. There are plenty of hall of fames in Montana. Would you like to see a Treasure State Sports Hall of Fame?
John Letasky: The single sport ones are cool, but one all-encompassing HOF would be pretty neat.
Lindsay Rossmiller: Doesn't the MHSA already have one at Rocky? That's probably as close to a statewide one that I'm aware of.
Chris Peterson: As long as it doesn't come with a morality clause.
Daniel Shepard: I don't know that we need another one. Starts to feel kind of redundant at some point. I enjoy learning about Helena sports history every year around Hall of Fame time, though.
Carson Cashion: I would never turn down an idea to help celebrate history.
5. Any Memorial Day plans?
John Letasky: With it being state championship weekend, I don't get out camping like I used to but maybe one year. There will be a barbecue of some sort, and also remembrance, though.
Lindsay Rossmiller: On the road again — cue Willie Nelson.
Chris Peterson: Hanging out at state track, then hitting the BBQ when it's all done.
Daniel Shepard: Rooting against Kyle Larson completing the double (Indy 500, Coke 600). Pick a lane buddy, you ain't Tony Stewart.
Carson Cashion: Lots and lots of Class B track! Looking forward to it.
