Jett Lawrence swept the holeshots in Southwick’s pair of motos.
Jorge Prado pressured Jett in the first turn and emerged second. Prado showed a lot of improvement following the off-week.
Eli Tomac got a much better start in the second race and completed Lap 1 in third with Hunter Lawrence following in fourth.
Aaron Plessinger rounded out the top five on Lap 1 but the performance of the afternoon may belong to Justin Barcia, who rode sixth early after scoring a top-10 in Moto 1.
On Lap 4, Jett started to stretch his advantage and built a 7.5-second lead over Prado. Tomac was 2.4 seconds further back.
Hunter caught up to Tomac on Lap 5. One lap later, Hunter takes the position, which denied Tomac a podium position as they ran.
Jett Lawrence made a major statement in the first moto at The Wick 338 to set himself in the best position for the overall win.
Hunter Lawrence’s second-place finish in Moto 1 and Eli Tomac in third were poised to strike in the event of a mistake by Jett.
